Ron Borkan was born and raised in Princeton, New Jersey, but always wanted to move west. Ron has degrees in natural resource management and worked the majority of his career with SWCA, Inc. Environmental Consultants, in Flagstaff, Phoenix, and Portland, Oregon. Since retirement, he has created Ellis Environmental, LLC, a company focused on management and ownership succession for small environmental consulting companies. Upon moving back to Flagstaff in 2016, Ron became involved with several organizations. First with the Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival, but now serving on four: F-Cubed, Flagstaff Arts Council, Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy, and as a member of the Advisory Council for the Martin-Springer Institute at NAU. While he served a short time on the Board for Heichal Baoranim (now known as Congregation Lev Shalom) in 2016, he resigned from there and formed the Flagstaff Kehilah, a group of over 100 people which fosters Jewish community and learning in Flagstaff.
